The cables on the hat will make heads turn! Both are knit in the round from the bottom up. Valley Yarns Taconic is a soft blend of Merino wool and cashmere, with multicolored tweedy flecks that give the finished fabric a fantastic visual texture. • Finished Measurements:

  • Hat – 20” circumference
  • Mittens – 7½” circumference and 10¼” long

• Yarn Requirements: 3 balls Valley Yarns Taconic (70% Merino Wool/ 30% Cashmere; 50g/125yds) shown in Sky Blue Tweed (Note: 2 balls will make either the hat or the pair of mittens. 3 balls will make the set.)

• Needles:

  • US 7 (4.50mm) 16” circular and DPNs
  • US 8 (5.00mm) 16” circular and DPNs

• Gauge:

  • 20 sts and 28 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch on US 8 (5.00mm), blocked
  • 19 sts cable panel = 3”
