Unisex pullover featuring original cable designs. It has a round/crew neck and saddle shoulders. Instructions are given for women’s sizes (in circumference increments of about 2 inches), but this pullover is designed to be easily adapted for almost any size or shape. Model is shown in size E with 3 inches of ease and optional waist shaping.

Because it has dropped shoulders, the body is worked at the desired circumference and to a length that is 2.25 inches shorter than the desired finished length from shoulder to hem. Armhole depth is marked according to your needs, then you work the sleeves that correspond to that armhole (the saddles are worked to the length of the shoulders).

Optional waist-shaping instructions are included for women. Short-row bust shaping can be worked without interrupting the main pattern stitch. The sides and most of the sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch. If you choose to substitute a texture stitch for the stockinette portions, note that the sleeve pattern stitch (Slalom) includes two stitches on each side in stockinette in order to maintain the visual effect of the pattern emerging from the solid sides.

PATTERN NOTES:
Continue to work patterns as possible during neck shaping. When it no longer becomes possible, continue to knit the knit and purl the purl stitches.

Closing Cables: This is a method of decreasing in the cable panels before binding off to ensure the bind-off end doesn’t flare. This is similar to the increases made before beginning the cables at the start of the work, but involves decreasing instead. See pattern for full notes.
