Pattern notes
Backpack is worked using several techniques.
Base is worked using amigurumi method: work sts continuously in a spiral without closing each round with ss. Pm in first st of
each round, moving it up as you go. Body is worked in the round, using overlay mosaic crochet technique: work all dc sts in blo, and all tr sts in flo of tr two rows directly below. Do not fasten off yarn unless indicated; carry yarn up inside work as required.
Cc in ss at end of every round of Body section until Round 96 as folls: insert hook in blo of st indicated, yoh in new colour, draw new colour through st and lp on hook to finish. Work first st of each round in same st as ss. Flap and Straps are worked flat, turning after each row. Brightly coloured yarns are used to make five Badges, which are pinned onto Backpack with safety pins.
Backpack is assembled and fastenings are attached to finish.
