Parky Hat
‘Parky’ is a cozy, textured crochet beanie made using sport-weight / heavy fingering weight / 4ply yarn. It’s lightweight, close-fitting and warm; perfect for those chilly mornings when it’s a bit parky out.
Skills
This is a simple, top-down beanie hat pattern made in turned rounds using simple crochet stitches working in the back and front loops. It uses US double crochet and half double crochet with simple increases.
Finished Sizes
The hat is written in 5 gender neutral sizes toddler, child, teen / small adult, adult and large adult. Detailed measurements are included in the pattern.
Materials
You will require approximately 130(155, 165, 190, 200)m sport / heavy fingering weight or 4 ply yarn and a 3.5mm crochet hook (or size needed to match gauge). I recommend using a 3mm crochet hook for the brim to achieve a good fit.
The Cream Sample pictured uses John Arbon Textiles, Seafarer Sport, 90% British Wool, 10% Silk, 100g ball = 300m.
The striped version used Drops Nord, 45% Aplaca, 30% Polyamide, 25% Wool, 50g ball = 170m, in shades 09 (teal) and 114 (mustard).
The pattern is written in English using standard US crochet terms.
