Discontinued. This digital pattern is no longer available online.

This pattern has been discontinued so I could re-design it and include it in my book, Brioche Knit Love.

The Parquetry cowl is knit in the round from the bottom up; its checkerboard pattern is made with alternating garter stitch and brioche rib squares. New to brioche? This is a very gentle introduction! Adjust the width by adding or subtracting stitches, and knit to your desired height.

This cowl was designed for the Fiber Gallery for the 2019 Puget Sound LYS Tour. It features Hazel Knits
Lively DK, a bouncy round superwash merino/nylon blend available in a multitude of colors.

Yarn: 180 yards dark color, 150 yards light color heavy DK/light worsted weight yarn. Shown in Hazel Knits Lively DK (90% superwash merino, 10% nylon, 130g/4.59 oz/275 yards) colors Plum Glace and Paisley.
Gauge: 18.67 sts/4 inches in pattern stitch. Gauge is not critical, but it can affect size and yardage requirements. Each 12 st repeat adds about 2.6 inches in width.
Needles: US #6 (4.0 mm) 24 inch circular, or size to obtain gauge, and US #8 (5.0 mm) 24 inch circular, or 2 sizes larger than main needle for bind off.
Notions: 30 st markers, tapestry needle.
Finished measurements: 36” x 7” unstretched.

This pattern is also available through my Payhip store.
