This double lace shawl, knit using light fingering weight yarn features two lace stitches. The focal lace is actually an old -- but little known -- Aran stitch that when aggressively blocked, becomes a unique lace stitch.) A Shetland edging forms the border stitch., which is attached in the traditional Shetland manner: knitted on after the body of the shawl is knit.

The focal stitch, if you can enlarge the picture, branches out creating a floral effect.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a knowledge of lace knitting) and attaching edgings -- for which there are some instructions contained withing the pattern).

The focal stitch is only written out. However, the pattern for the Edging is both charted and written out line by line.

This pattern was expertly tested by Teddi Sherrill who can be reached at: tms808 @gmail.com and was knit using Malabrigo’s Finito yarn in colorway, Fuschia, and requires approximately 1100 - 1200 yards to make the shawl as shown.

The pattern is for sale here on Ravelry and in my Etsy Shop in the Int - Advanced Shawl Section (https://www.etsy.com/shop/WearableArtEmporium?section_id=…)
