I was asked my a dear friend to create a pattern inspired by the character of Jess from Gilmore Girls, and immediately has a scene pop into my head.

One of my most favourite moments of the series is when Jess is down in the diner, and Luke confronts him. Why? Because he’s sporting a backwards hat, and of course a plaid button up flannel.

It gives me memories of searching for my own perfect plaid top back in my younger days, and just warms my heart equally as much as the bonfires at our party filled evenings would.

I hope these socks bring you joy as you knit them, and them warmth when you wear them.

There are 3 sizes available, which I think are able to accommodate most feet out in the world,

Small 56 sts for 7” circumference of leg
Medium 60 sts for 7.5” circumference of leg
Large 64 sts for 8” circumference of leg

Gauge is 32 stitches x 44 rows in 4” x 4” measurement of stockinette stitch, using a 2.50mm (US 1.50) needle.

Please use the appropriately sized needles for your knitting, some knitters had to go up and down a needle size to obtain gauge.

~~~
You’ll need:
Needles in the appropriate size for the required gauge
100G of smooth sport weight yarn
Stitch markers
Darning needle
Scissors
Ruler
