Take a leisurely stroll with the Paseo Blanket.

This super simple blanket pattern is easy to memorize and fun to knit. It uses simple knits and purls to create touchable texture, and includes a pleasing garter stitch border.

Now available in TWO SIZES!

NEWLY UPDATED April 2023 to include chart instructions.
The Paseo Blanket was designed with comfort and ease of care in mind. The blanket samples were knit in both 100% Cotton yarn and 100% Superwash Wool yarn. Whichever size you choose to knit, they’re easy to care for, and are suitable for the entire family.

The pattern includes written and charted instructions for a knit version and a purl version.

Now in a printer-friendly format - pattern only, no pictures. Print only what you need!

Security / Preemie = 17” W (43 cm) X 22” H (56 cm)
Receiving / Lapghan = 36” W (91 cm) X 41” H (104 cm)

Each blanket may be made longer or shorter by adding/subtracting pattern repeats.

For the Security / Preemie Blanket size, I used approximately 340 yds (311 m) of yarn.

For the Receiving Blanket/ Lapghan, I used approximately 1270 yds (1161 m) of yarn.

Although the Hobby Lobby yarn is listed as a worsted weight (4) yarn, I find that it performs more like a light worsted weight yarn. I was able to obtain the same gauge in both using the size US 6 knitting needles.

Finished size and amount of yarn needed may vary depending on yarn choice and gauge. Be sure to buy additional yarn if you plan to add length to your project.

Knit in pattern using U.S. size 6 (4mm) circular knitting needles.

The Paseo Blanket is knit flat, back and forth, in one piece. I used circular needles to accommodate the large number of stitches required.

2 repeats (20 sts) = 4”

Check gauge in stitch pattern using the pattern version you intend to knit. Yarn required may vary according to the version you use. Blocking is not essential.

If you are comfortable knitting and purling, you can knit the Paseo Blanket pattern.
