This hat is knit in the round from the bottom up. It’s an easy hat beginning with a traditional 2X2 ribbing, followed by a side braid, then a simple 2 row repeat special stitch until the decrease section. This hat is adult sized and is offered in 2 different sizing. I recommend using a yarn that has a lot of lust and depth, to get the best out of the pattern.

Don’t miss the matching cowl pattern available for FREE.

NOTIONS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Casting on, knitting and purling, knitting in the round, yarn over, slipping purlwise, passing over, knitting and purling through the back loop, knitting 2 together through the back loop, binding off.

GAUGE
24 stitches and 36 rows = 4” in stitch pattern on size US7 needles

N.B: If you are planning on knitting the set; hat and longer cowl set, make sure you have at least 500 yards available in stash. 2 skeins of Phydeaux Designs Beurre were a tight fit and to make it perfect it would have required an extra 40 yards or so.
