Patch
Patch is an asymmetric bias triangle shawl that employs the innovative concept of assigned pooling to turn elongated knit stitches into tiny warp threads on hundreds of miniature looms across the surface of the knitted fabric.
Assigned pooling occurs when a change in stitch and texture is assigned to changes in color within a skein of specially-dyed variegated yarn. In this case, stockinette stitch is assigned to the main color to create a backdrop for the loom stitch assigned to the accent color.
Yarn: 2 skeins of Barker Wool BFL Fingering in any Assigned Pooling colorway. Shown here in Felicity.
Finished Measurements: approximately 71” W x 26” D.
Needles: US size 5 (3.75 mm) on a 24” cable
Gauge: 22 STS x 32 rows = 4” x 4” in Stockinette ST
Additional Equipment: A scale that weighs in grams
