This adorable cardigan is knitted in strips which are in turn knitted together. The self patterning sock yarn works up in a unique patchwork design.

Using the recommended yarn this baby jacket fits a size newborn - 3 months. It’s easy to adjust the length of the cardigan to make it fit for a longer time period.
In the ravelry download you will find one size more in the pattern to fit up to one year!

new For your convenience the technical section of this pattern includes a link to my instructional video for the easy join-as-you-go technique

Here some helpful hints:

Creating a nice edge which makes joining the strips easier:

On the RS I always slip the first stitch of the row as if to purl (with the yarn in the front). On the WS I always knit the last stitch. This creates a nice selvedge st which makes it much easier to pick up stitches for joining.

Now there is Patches Child available, the same style sweater in bigger sizes and with options to chose for neck line and edging!
