This pattern includes instructions for a cowl, hat and fingerless mittens with a patchwork design. The pattern is written for Miniballs - 10g balls of pure wool 4ply yarn spun in Scotland by JC Rennie. Other 4ply yarn can be substituted, you need the following total yardage for the designs:

Hat: Approx 250m in total
Mittens: Approx 180m in total
Cowl: Approx 800m in total

The accessories are offered in one size, smaller or larger sizes can be accommodated by changing needle size or adding or removing pattern repeats of 10 stitches. The sizing is quite generous on these, as written they should fit a large adult.

Kits are available for this pattern at the link below. Miniballs come in over 90 colours and there’s endless options for colour combinations. Alternatively scraps of 4ply can be used, the samples are shown in 9 colours, you’ll want each scrap to be at least 50m, a bit more for the ribbing colour of the cowl or mittens.

The patchwork motif is knit using the stranded technique, so it’s very important to keep your floats loose to avoid the fabric puckering.
