The original inspiration for this pattern was a traditional Trip Around The World quilt. When drawing the pattern I started out with elements of the trip around the world and then doodled from there. Some of the areas reminded me of a trellis along a garden path, which is how I came up with the name Paths Around The World.

This pattern was designed to be worked in overlay mosaic crochet, working with one color at a time. It is suitable for adventurous beginners through advanced crocheters. The pattern includes a charted graph with double crochet stitches marked with Xs, written instructions, basic mosaic crochet information, and border instructions.

The chart and written instructions include clear markings on where to repeat the pattern to create a project in the size of your choice. A project with one pattern repeat will measure approximately 28x36” including border. This would be a great size for a baby or lap blanket. A project made with two repeats wide by two repeats high will measure approximately 48x60” including border.

Materials needed for 2 repeats wide x 2 repeats high:
Worsted weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors*
Color A (white) approx 1450 yds
Color B (contrast color) approx 1500 yds
Border (contrast color) approx 600 yds
Other size yarns such as DK weight will work well for this project using the appropriate hook size for the yarn. The finished size and estimated yarn amounts will be different.

Size H/5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain a gauge of about 3.5 stitches per inch
