“No love, no friendship, can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever.”
Francois Mauriac

The Paths Cross beanie is created using the beautiful and very stretchy Half Twisted Rib Stitch. The bind off at the top creates a hat that comfortably conforms to the wearers head when worn close or provides visual interest when worn slouchy. The wide seams of the bind off helped inspire the name of the hat as they resemble a place where paths cross and come together.

This pattern will instruct you on how to make this hat in 5 different sizes with the fit choices including slouchy, with a rolled brim, or standard length.

The sizes and head circumferences are as follows:

Infant: 16 in / 40.5 cm

Toddler: 18 in / 46 cm

Child: 20 in / 51 cm

Teen/Adult: 22 in / 57 cm

XL Adult: 24 in / 61 cm

What you will need to make this hat:

Worsted Weight #4 yarn in the amount listed for the size hat being made. Between +/- 95-200 yards of yarn.

US 8 / 5 mm 16-inch circular knitting needles and a set of double pointed needles in the same size (DPNs optional if using magic loop).

Scissors, tape measure, and tapestry needle.

8 stitch markers with one being unique from the others to mark the BOR.
