Yarn Heaven’s Stars and Stripes Vest, worked in breathable cotton with stars on one side and stripes on the other and 5 buttons in between.

Knitted flat in 3 pieces of stockinette stitch with 2x2 ribbing on bottom and all edges, this vest is sleeveless with optional buttonholes and charted Intarsia stars. Stripes achieved with alternating red and white yarn on back and left front. Simpler option includes using buttons or patches on a solid blue right front for the stars instead of stranding them. Vest can be attached in front, or buttonholes added for cardigan style.

Back length=19 (19 3/4, 20 1/2) in.
