This sweater is knit in one piece from top to bottom in stockinette stitch in rounds. We start at the back neckline and knit in German short rows with increases till we can close the neckline to the round. The increases in the round yoke are integrated into the two-color fair isle pattern. Zealana Heron’s yarn is from New Zealand, so the stranded pattern is inspired by Maori tattoos. In New Zealand, Maori heritage and tradition is highly respected. The name of the sweater comes from their. Paua is the abalone shell with its beautiful blue-silver iridescent mother-of-pearl inner side, Kowhai is a bush with a sea of small yellow flowers. After the round yoke, the body and sleeves are finished separately. Do you want the sweater to be longer or shorter for you? Then simply knit more or less rounds after the division in the uni colored part.
