A great hat to learn to do color work with the use of slipped stitches. This hat is a lot easier than it looks. You work this pattern with 2 colors without cutting the strands of yarn. The written pattern has links to the videos demonstrating the stitch pattern but not for the hat itself.

You will need 2 colors of medium/worsted weight yarns and a loom with a multiple of 8 pegs. The sample was worked using the All-n-One loom by AKB set to 72 pegs. The Martha Stewart loom kit can also be used set to a configuration of 72 small pegs in every hole.

The hat is designed to fit an adult but will be small if tension is tight since this is a fitted design. So using a flat knit will give you a child’s size hat while using a traditional knit stitch will fit an adult. You can also set your loom to 80 or 88 pegs to make a larger size if you are a tight knitter. You can also use less pegs to make smaller sizes. Just use a multiple of 8 pegs.

Also you can change the brim to a garter or rib stitch, if desired.

Enjoy!
