Paxil's Dishcloth
This simple but deceptively complicated-looking pattern is named after my cat, Paxil - who is also simple and pretty. :)
Gauge is really unimportant, the number of stitches can be easily adjusted to your preferred size. I used 7mm needles with two strands of yarn knitted together, but you could always use smaller needles and switch to a single strand of yarn. You do you!
My dishcloth was made on 7mm needles (just a smidge bigger than a US size 10.5).
Cast on 22 stitches (to adjust: use any multiple of 6 plus 4 stitches for the border).
Knit 2 rows and then begin pattern (each pattern row will also begin/end with k2).
- (k2, yo, sl1, k1, psso)* k2
- p across
- (yo, sl1, k1, psso, k2)* (will end on a psso)
- p across
Knit to desired length, ending on row 1 or 3. Knit 2 more rows and bind-off.
