The Peace Bonnet combines garter stitch ridges and bands of 1×1 ribbing for a sweet, textured design. Worked in fingering-weight yarn, it makes a lightweight bonnet for a handmade baby gift or your own little one.

The bonnet is worked flat from the front edge, then joined in the round to shape the crown. Applied i-cord finishes the lower edge and continues into matching ties for a neat, polished finish.

Sizes: Newborn, infant, baby, and toddler
Yarn: Approximately 60–100 yards of fingering-weight yarn; sample knit in KnitPicks Mighty Stitch Fingering
Needles: 3 mm circular needles and DPNs, or your preferred small-circumference method
Gauge: 28 stitches and 40 rows per 4 inches / 10 cm

Techniques include knitting and purling, working flat and in the round, crown decreases, i-cord, and applied i-cord edging.

The pattern is available free on my blog, with a free printable PDF available through the email signup on the pattern page.
