I think a recent trip to Glastonbury must have released my inner hippy, compelling me to create this blanket, Peace, Love, Happiness and Campervans!

The Blanket pictured measures just under 1 metre (39 inches) square but can be made as large (or small) as you like. It is knitted in strips which are then stitched together before adding a border.

I used a total of 500 grams (1475 metres) of Double Knitting weight yarn for my blanket, 100g each of 5 different colours. It would be great to use yarn from your stash too and go for some truly happy hippy colours! The whole blanket was made using one pair of straight 4mm knitting needles. If you intend to make your blanket larger, you may find a circular needle better for the border due to the number of stitches involved.

The stitches used are simple, stocking stitch (one row knit, one row purl) and Garter Stitch (all knit). There are charts included for the motifs.

Just have fun!
