Lacy summer top has scalloped hemline, with rolled edges over armholes and boat neckline. Neckline shaping is achieved holding stitches whilst continuing to create the lace pattern, making this garment an ideal first venture into this technique. The garment was created using one 800g cone of Yeoman Cannele 4ply corded cotton (larger size will need more). This yarn is superb for knitting lace as accidentally dropped stitches resist running! The pattern was written using a Brother 950i knitting machine with separate lace carriage, however any standard gauge machine could be used with either a separate or combined lace carriage PROVIDING the lace carriage can be set to transfer stitches without knitting. Any alternative lace patterns could be substituted.
Written in three bust sizes small 30”-34” 76-86cm, (medium 36”-40” 91-101cm, and Large 42”-44” 106-111cm) the largest size takes 158 stitches so there is additional scope for larger sizes.
The garment would also make a great evening top in a sparkly yarn or make it oversize as a beach cover-up! Aimed at intermediate to advanced ability, the pattern is written in text format. Please note, Ravelry add tax at your local rate to the cost of all pattern sales.
