NEEDLES:

US size 5 (3.75 mm) circular needle, 48” length or longer to accommodate the large number of sts at the end of the shawl.

Beginner - Perfect for those who are just beginning or have knit a project or two. Skills include increasing with kfbf and creating texture with slipped stitches.

Designed by Emily Walton.

Notes From the Designer:

•Slipped stitches lend texture to this oversized shawl. Enjoy using as many colors as you wish to create a show stopping piece that is sure to turn heads and have you “proud as a peacock” to wear! Wrap yourself in color and let your wild side shine with this multi-seasonal accessory that’s great for knitters of all skill levels.

•This shawl is constructed from the top down, beginning with a garter tab cast on. After the setup section, an intuitive 8-row pattern is repeated down to the ribbed border. Colors are switched periodically, and the slipped sts at the color changes lend a sort of color melt effect to the pattern.

•Instructions are given for striping 6 colors, but you can easily stripe more or fewer colors.

•Size can be easily adjusted by working more or fewer pattern repeats to achieve your preferred size before working the ribbed border. Gauge is not crucial but may cause your shawl to be larger or smaller than the sample shown.
