Zigzags in two – or many – colors encircle this hat. The crown decreases create a cross shape, topped off with an I-cord “button”. Or work the Trifecta Variation in three colors, and end it with a whimsical I-cord braided tail!

Materials:
Yarn:
Approximately 35 grams (65 to 70 yards) Worsted Weight yarn (A)
Approximately 35 grams (65 to 70 yards) Worsted Weight yarn (B)
Or a combination of worsted weight yarns totaling about 70 grams (130 to 140 yards)

Needles:
Small/Medium: US 8 – 5.0 mm needles or size needed to give gauge
Large/Extra-Large: US 9 – 5.5 mm needles or size needed to give gauge

Gauge:
Small/Medium: 20 sts x 21 rnds = 4” on US #8 needles in Stockinette Stitch color pattern.
Large/Extra-Large: 18 sts x 21 rnds = 4” on US #9 needles in Stockinette Stitch color pattern.
Note: These hats are surprising stretchy, so will accommodate a variety of head sizes.

Trifecta Variation uses approximately 25 grams (50 to 60 yards) Worsted Weight yarn in each of three colors.
