There are socks, and there are slippers, and then there are slipper socks.

Not intended to be worn under shoes, slipper socks offer the best of both worlds. Their high tops keep drafts at bay, while their cozy feet stretch to fit like socks do. Try these in the depths of winter, to help you remember springtime in the garden.

Finished size: 8 (8¾, 9¼, 9¼, 10)“ (20.5 22, 23.5, 23.5, 25.5 cm) foot circumference, 9 (10, 11, 11½, 12¼)” (23 25.5, 28, 29, 31 cm) foot length

Note: To make this pattern in a child’s size, use the instructions for Carrots, (omitting the root marks), then embellish as described here.

Construction: Slippers are worked from top to toe.
