This shawl was designed in collaboration with Amanda from Little Likac Yarn. I was designing a fairy shawl that needed a beautiful soft colourway, and she was dyeing for a Midsummer Night’s Dream themed yarn collection. The two came together and resulted in this beautiful lace shawl in her Titania colourway.
In keeping with these themes, the shawl is called Peaseblossom, after one of Titania’s fairy attendants, and reflects the soft dancing of light and wispy fairies amongst the summer flowers of the forest.

YARN

  • 1 skein Little Likac Yarn “Luxury Sock” (4ply / fingering, 85% Merino / 15% Nylon), 400 metres(437 yards) / 100 grams in Titania.
  • Amount of yarn used: 342 - 400 metres (374 - 437 yards).
  • Good substitutions would include any yarn of a similar weight or knit at a similar gauge.

NEEDLES

  • 4 mm (US size 6) 100 cm (40 in) circular needle for working flat or size needed to obtain gauge.

GAUGE

  • 20 stitches and 26 rows to 10 cm / 4 in worked in stocking stitch on 4 mm (US size 6) needle after blocking.
  • Gauge is not crucial to this project, but varying gauges will affect fabric, yardage and final measurements.

NOTIONS

  • Darning/tapestry needle.
  • 2 Stitch markers.
