This started out as a project to depict head armor, but the more I worked it, the more the wide rib columns made me think of marble pedestals busts are displayed on. (And always knocked over in the movies!)

It’s a simple design, leaving you free to go a little crazy customizing it as your own. Perfectly unisex as well!

• This was designed as a short toque, but you can make it longer by doing more ribbing rounds or more body rounds between the purl sections.
• I used a heavier worsted/aran to reach gauge.
• Work each section of the hat in a different color or just highlight the purl bands.
