Beads: 214 size 6/0 (4mm diameter) approx 18 g for planned dimensions of scarf.
Other notions: Small crochet hook or similar for placing beads

Bead accents nestle within a honeycomb of colorful knit fabric. Self-shaping edges, along with a pleasingly reversible textured knit/purl design, make this scarf fun to knit and wear.

This project is good for the advancing beginner because the row has a small number of stitches and the stitch pattern is easy to see and memorize. Peek-a-Bead will also appeal to the skilled knitter looking for some relatively mindless knitting yet something to retain the interest.

Features

  • textured knit and purl for pleasing reversibility
  • undulating movement of color (to emphasize yarn with long runs of color)
  • self-shaping edges
  • and of course beaded accents here and there to add to the interest, rather than detract from the flowing colors of the yarn
