This pencil shaped case can be used for storing pens and pencils, or knitting needles and hooks. The case has a zipped closure around the top, and is lined with knitted fabric. Plastic canvas grids cut to shape are used to line the pencil to keep its shape.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the case is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).

NEEDLES
A pair of 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles (US 4)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, pins for making up, an 18cm (7 inch) closed zipper, and two 33cm x 28cm (13 x 11 inches) plastic canvas mesh sheets, or cardboard, to strengthen the pencil shape.


SIZES
One size only - 32cm long x 7cm diameter.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, decreases, stranded colour-work, and seaming to finish.
