Penelope Infinity Scarf
“…Inspired me first to set up a great loom in our royal halls
and I began to weave, and the weaving finespun,
the yarns endless, and I would lead them on…
So by day I’d weave at my great and growing web;
by night, by the light of torches set beside me,
I would unravel all I’d done…”
~The Odyssey
Penelope Infinity Scarf is inspired by Odysseus’ wife Penelope, who waited for her husband’s long return and tried to thwart her many suitors by weaving during the day and unraveling her progress every night. The simple ribbing pattern gets interrupted every few rows with a simple cable that can either be made the traditional way with a cable needle or done without a cable needle, as shown in the tutorial on Page 5. Wrap yourself up with this soft scarf that feels so squishy around your neck!
