Penny Coat
This coat is heavily inspired by the famous Penny Lane Coat. It has been a long dream of mine to have a coat exactly like the one in the movie, but since many of them are so hard to come by I have decided to make one of my own, and now you can too!
This coat is made to measure with no exact stitch count. The measurements provided are for example. Please measure yourself as you go along.
I will show how to measure on yourself. It is highly customizable. I’ve had testers that used less furry yarn, and some that skipped the pockets and buttons. There are so many choices and the possibilities are endless!
Pattern is 11 pages long
Materials needed:
This makes a medium sized coat
900g chunky or bulky yarn
600g furry yarn for the trim
I have also included a page that lists all of the similar yarn my testers have used on the final page of the pattern
5mm hook for main body
4.5mm hook for pockets
2 toggle buttons
Tape measure
Scissors
Tapestry needle
Stitch markers
The whole coat is made in 5 pieces plus 2 pockets, and each piece is put together before the furry trim is added on. The furry cuffs are worked in the round, and the collar is then attached.
