THIS PATTERN IS DISCONTINUED. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

This sweater was designed to be a very easy knit, great for beginners. Knit from the top down with simple yoke increases. Sleeve stitches will be put onto waste yarn while the body is knit and the sleeves are easily picked up later for a seamless look.

Designing this sweater, I wanted something simple that I could knit in public without having to read a chart or the pattern every few rows yet have enough interest in the design that it would grab attention when worn. The sweater also has a gentle A line shaping which is optional.

Sizes: XS (S, M, L, XL)

34 ( 38, 42, 45, 50) inches at the bust.

86 (97, 107, 114, 127) cm at the bust.
Optional A line shaping will add 2 MORE inches (5 cm) about mid drift (below belly button and above hip bone). Choose a size according to your bust size and add 2-4” to find the final measurements above to suit you best. The Penny Purls Pullover should be worn with 2-4’’ of positive ease. The model is a size 36’’ and is wearing the size small which is 38’’ at the bust (with the A line shaping giving 40’’ near the mid tummy).

Yarn: Julie Asselin Leizu Fingering
(115g/ 4oz per skein;

420 yards/ 385 meters)

3 (4, 4, 4, 5) skeins needed (includes gauge swatch).
1300 (1400, 1500, 1600, 1700) yards
1190 (1280, 1372, 1463, 1555) meters
I have chosen Julie Asselin Leizu fingering yarn as it has a beautiful drape due to the silk content. The merino keeps it wonderfully soft and the silk lends strength and sheen. It’s a wonderful mid-fingering weight yarn meaning it’s not too plump and it’s not too fine (as there is a range of fingering type yarns). I also love the definition I get from the purl bumps with this yarn.
