This double-knit cowl makes use of six different shades to create a gradient effect reminiscent of storm clouds. Knitting with one color and purling with another at the same time produces a reversible accessory that hides all of the stranded colorwork on the inside.

This accessory is worked double-knit in the round. For each stitch indicated in the chart, two stitches are worked: knit the color indicated with both yarns in back and then immediately purl the other color used in the round with both yarns in front. It should feel as if you are working 1x1 ribbing for the entire project. Instructions for the Standard Double Knitting Cast On and the Standard Double Knitting Bind Off are included in the Special Techniques section.
