Peonie Bonnet is a classical vintage piece in a baby’s wardrobe. It starts with a simple garter stitch brim that is followed by stockinette stitch. The cute decorative ruffle is worked after binding off the bonnet. Lastly, you’ll be working the i-cord that can be tied together to a ribbon.

Required techniques:

  • pick up stitches (for the ruffle)
  • i-cord
  • mattress stitch (for grafting)

Head circumference: 33-38cm (38cm) 41cm (43cm)

Yarn: 50g for all sizes (75-90m)

Suggested yarn: DK weight. Drops Merino Extra Fine (50g/105m) or Rowan Alpaca Soft (50g/125m) or Schachenmayr Merino Extra Fine
85 (50g/85m)

Needles: 4mm circular (40cm string) or straight needles, 2x 4mm DPNs (for the i-cord)

Materials: tapestry needle

Gauge: 21sts = 10cm in stockinette stitch
