Pepper the Polar Bear is an adaptation of my Barley the Beagle dog pattern.

Barley has more photos and instructions and details where Pepper is more simple and one single color. The ears and face are different for Pepper and there are a few less rows in the head. The limbs are also positioned different at the end because Pepper sits and Barley lays down.

This pattern - like several of my patterns - are in a simplified chart form to ease of reading. You need to have knowledge of working in the round to read them. For example, please know how to increase from 6, 12, 18 etc and decrease.

I have now added a helpful cheat sheet with detailed instructions on how to do increases and decreases.

I used about half my big skein of Caron One Pound for Pepper so make sure you have enough yarn if you are also making a solid color bear.

Pepper is about 23” tall and very chubby so make sure you have enough stuffing material. Gauge isn’t important, but your bear may be a different size if you aren’t using the same materials as I do. Please adjust your hook size to your yarn.
