This pattern calls for a 5mm hook, but I used a 5.5mm because my tension is unusually tight. A typical crocheter should use a 5mm hook.

This pattern is intended to use with a hair tie that has a 1 inch diameter.

Though stated colors are red and white to resemble peppermints, any color combinations can be used. This can also be completed with only one color.

Needed materials:
Red and white yarn, medium worsted weight 4
5mm or 5.5mm hook (I use a 5.5mm because my tension is tight)
1 inch hair ties (2 total)
Stitch marker
Scissors
Sewing needle
