The idea for this pattern came to me after eating a striped peppermint candy candy during the holiday season. I looked at the candy cane and thought “this would make a lovely beanie pattern.” This pattern is written in US standard terms and is recommended for advanced beginner knitters. This beanie is worked in the round using 3 different colour yarns.

SUGGESTED NEEDLE SIZE:
Size US13/9mm 16” circular knitting needles
Size US15/10mm 16” circular knitting needles

SUGGESTED YARNS:
Any Super Bulky (6) weight yarn in 3 contrasting colours. I used Lion Brand Yarn Wool Ease Thick & Quick in Fisherman (off white), Cranberry (red), and Grass (green). I encourage you to play around with the colours, but I recommend keeping a green colour for the “peppermint” feel of the beanie.

GAUGE:
4” x 4” = 9 stitches and 12 rows in stockinette stitch using US13/9mm needles

OTHER NOTIONS NEEDED:
Stitch marker
Tapestry/darning needle
US15/10mm double pointed needles (optional)
