Comfy crochet shawl with pockets and a gentle curve around neck & shoulders to prevent bunching at hairline & naturally wrapping around shoulders.

This shawl is hand-crocheted with a petite, curvy figure in mind, but can be worn comfortable by other frames as well. The pattern has a curve to it to help the garment naturally flow around the shoulders without the bunching of fabric at the back of the neck, This is especially nice for short & curvy gals and for those with shorter necks, which often goes hand in hand with the former. And let’s not leave out how much nicer it is for those of us with heavy & longer hair that hate all that material bunched up behind our heads to drape our locks over.

The pattern is an intermediate/advanced (or an advanced beginner that likes a challenge) design with loads of details. I’ve provided pics for the tricky bits and links to videos for the more difficult stitches & design elements. This is not your typical simple shawl with pockets. The rows of Bullion stitches & the Bullion fringe on the ends are beautiful accents that raise this shawl above the bar. The width is wide enough to cover the shoulders and upper arms, but not too wide to not be able to throw it around your neck like a regular scarf.

The outer curve measures 93” with the inner curve at 65” creating an average length of 79” with an additional 5½“ added by the fringe.
The width is a bit more than 15” with the pockets right at 9” x 9”.

Hook: K (6.5mm) I crochet fairly tightly, so if you stitch loosely, you may want to lower your hook size
