This shawl is another fabulous collaboration with my friend and fellow fibre artist Chrissie Day, using Chrissies very own 1 Farm – 1 Flock – 1 Clip Moorland Yarn.
This yarn has been spun 2 fold 2 ply high twist to work with finer pieces and is perfect for shawls as it is super soft and drapes very well.
The colours of the yarn are inspired by Chrissie’s home high and remote in the Upper Dale where winters are hard and summers are sublime. Inspiration from wild meadow flowers, heathers and the lichen on old gates and fences make for sweet names like Powder Pink denoting Summer sky pink or Dusty Inky Blue for a stormy Pennine sky.
The shawl is worked from the bottom up starting with the lace border. The crescent shape is achieved by working short rows and the result is a long shallow shawl that is very easy to wear.
An accessory to make every day into a perfect day for you.
