Perky Pussyhat uses a seamless spiral design to form a perfectly proud pussycat hat and is a different take on the usual square hat design. This hat is one of two designs I came up with when asked by a friend to make her a hat for the upcoming Women’s Rights March. I took the concept of the pink pussyhat and put my own unique spin on it to create something similar yet a little different.

The pattern starts out by making the two ears which spiral down and then join together to form the top of the hat. The colors then continue to spiral together to make the body of the hat. The brim is then crocheted on over the ends of the body of the hat.

I used Red Heart Super Saver (medium weight; 100% acrylic) in Perfect Pink, Shocking Pink and Dark Orchid.

You will need crochet hook sizes H/8 – 5.00mm, G/6 – 4.25mm and a yarn needle.

This pattern uses US terminology.
