Knit a garment fit for a goddess! The Persephone Tee is inspired by the Greek Goddess Persephone, Queen of the Underworld and Goddess of Vegetation and Springtime. Persephone represents The High Priestess card in Tarot decks, a card that signifies things hidden in dreams, the night and the subconscious. A statue of Persephone in Crete, Greece depicts her wearing an asymmetrical toga-like dress.

Like the statue, the Persephone Tee is asymmetrical, which along with its fit, creates a feminine look that can be casual or dressed up. The entire tee is worked seamlessly in one piece, in the round from the neck to the hip bind off, and then flat for the remaining asymmetrical design. The center panel chevron and side detail add what appears to be intricate detail, but is essentially a repeat of two simple rows. With enough detail to be intriguing like a dream, but an easily memorized design, this knit will let you drift peacefully like the souls in Persephone’s Underworld.

I hope you find knitting this tee to be as magical and enjoyable as I did! May the Goddess of Springtime bless you with fresh energy and happy day dreams as you knit!
