From the pattern introduction:

Inspired by a woven Peruvian shawl, Kerry has combined a Fair Isle patterning with her “estrellitas” stitch designed to echo the Spanish grillwork of ages past in a comfortable side to side jacket with oversized cuffs, flattering vertical stripes, and drapy front bands.

From the magazine introduction:

Seattle designer Kerry Ferguson has created Creative Magazine #4 to accompany the beautiful cottons produced by Creative Yarns International. “Pima Natural” is a green cotton because it is unbleached and mercerized with far less chemicals than usual. “Natural Spirits” is also a green cotton in a matte boucle texture. All of the cottons are dyed with low impact dyes that are absorbed into the fibers, not into the waterways, or with natural colorants. All are better for the environment than traditional synthetic dyes. Kerry designs with you in mind and likes to feel she designs “in the stream” that crosses time and continents to tap into the cultures of ages past and miles afar as well as here at home. Her designs are meant to be fun to knit and wearable as well as exciting! Enjoy knitting them!
