The stitch patten is inspired by the traditional arts from the Andes. During my travels through South America, I witnessed many tradional fabrics and knitting/weaving techniques in Peru.

This top-down hat with ear flaps is adjustable to any size by continuing the increasing rounds and adding more rounds in length. All increases are made with “yarn over” in the first round and “knit through back of the loop” in the following round.

I used a Merino in fingering weight, but you could use any other wooly yarn with the same gauge. The gauge is in stockinette stitch knitted in the round after blocking.
For color B, you can use a leftover yarn from your stash (approx. 10-15g, approx. 40 m/yrd). I love the pom pom, i-cord and tassel, but you can add them as you like.

Level: beginner to intermediate. There is a Blog available on my website www.sasaknits.com for visual instructions for I-cord, Pom Pom and Tassels: https://wp.me/p9bw0R-7q
