This snood is worked from the lower edge upward.
In the first patterned section, repeated increases and decreases allow each motif to expand, creating a softly flared lower section with a gently rounded shape.

When worn with the 2×2 ribbed hem folded to the inside, it helps keep the chest warm. I chose this shape to create a snood that drapes smoothly from the hem up toward the neckline.

As the work progresses, the motif gradually changes into overlapping petal-like shapes. Decreases shape the fabric so that it tapers slightly toward the top, which is finished with a three-dimensional, bobble-like detail resembling the center of a flower.

The samples were worked in various yarn combinations, such as sport weight held with lace weight, or fingering weight held with lace mohair. You can change the yarns held together, vary yarns or colors between pattern sections, or even work it with a single strand of DK weight yarn. Leftover yarns from your stash work well, too.

このスヌードは裾から編み始めます。最初の模様編みは増し目と減目を繰り返すことで、一つ一つの模様
が膨らんでスヌードの下の部分がふわっとふくらみ、少しぽってりしたフォルムになります。
裾の２目ゴム編みの部分を内側にいれ込んで身に着けると胸元がとても暖かくなります。裾から首まわり
にかけて沿うようなドレープの出るスヌードを作りたかったのでこの形にしました。
模様は首元に向かって花びらを重ねたような模様に変わっていきトップまで少し細くなるように減目をし
て最後は花の中心のような立体的なボッブルのような模様で終わります。
サンプルはスポーツヤーンとレースヤーンの２本取り、フィンガリングとレースのモヘアの２本取りなど、
色々なバリエーションで編みました。引きそろえる糸を変えて楽しめます。また、模様ごとに糸や色を変
えても面白いと思います。DKの糸1本取りでも良いと思います。お手持ちの余った糸を使ったり…。
