The Pétale Vest is a romantic, button-down layer that balances the cozy structure of garter stitch with the delicate charm of a Peter Pan collar. True to its name, the vest is framed by a signature crocheted scalloped edge that mimics unfolding petals along the collar, placket, armholes, and hem. Whether you choose a contrasting yarn to make the “petals” pop or a matching shade for an understated, textural look, this vest is a versatile staple designed for effortless layering. It works beautifully with bare arms during the summer months or over a shirt for the colder parts of the year.

Construction
The vest is worked from the top down in garter stitch, starting with the back yoke, followed by the left and right front yokes which are worked separately in the flat with increases to shape the neckline. The body is then knitted in garter stitch in the flat. To finish, the collar is worked in garter stitch using German short rows and increases for shaping, before adding the signature crocheted “petal” border to the edges.
