PETALINE Shawlette is a delicate, petite shoulder shawl designed to elevate even the simplest outfits. Worn over a camisole or blouse and fastened at the front, it becomes an elegant focal point without overpowering the look. Its defining feature is the delicate picot edge, whose petal-like shape gives the shawlette both its name and its romantic character.
Worked in a fine cashmere yarn, PETALINE creates a featherlight accessory with beautiful drape and a luxurious feel. The construction begins with the delicate picot edge, which forms the frame of the shawlette. The inner section is then worked from the centre tip in seed stitch. Using short rows, the shawlette gradually grows into its triangular shape. The seed stitch gives both sides an almost identical appearance, allowing the PETALINE Shawlette to be worn beautifully with either side facing out.
The pattern is suitable for experienced knitters due to the fine yarn and the use of small needle sizes, including including US 0 / 2.0 mm needles. Here’s a video showing what I think is the most challenging part, so you can get a better idea of whether you feel comfortable with it example

PETALINE Shawlette ist ein zartes, kleines Schultertuch, das schlichte Outfits auf besondere Weise ergänzt. Beispielsweise über einem Top oder einer Bluse getragen und vorne geschlossen, wird es zum feinen Blickfang, ohne sich in den Vordergrund zu drängen. Sein charakteristisches Detail ist die filigrane Picotkante, deren blütenblattartige Form dem Tuch seinen Namen und seinen romantischen Charakter verleiht.
Gestrickt aus einem feinen Kaschmirgarn, entsteht ein federleichtes Accessoire mit einem weichen Fall und einer luxuriösen Haptik. Die Konstruktion beginnt mit der zarten Picotkante (Mäusezähnchenumrandung), die den Rahmen des Shawlettes bildet. Anschließend wird der innere Teil von der mittleren Spitze aus im Perlmuster gearbeitet. Mithilfe verkürzter Reihen (Short Rows) wächst das Shawlette nach und nach zu seiner Dreiecks-Form heran. Das Perlmuster sorgt dabei dafür, dass Vorder- und Rückseite nahezu identisch aussehen und das PETALINE Shawlette von beiden Seiten gleichermaßen schön getragen werden kann.
Die Anleitung ist für erfahrene Stricker:innen geeignet, da mit einem feinen Garn und u.a. 2,0 mm, gearbeitet wird.
