Peti is a cat-size garter stitch basket shaped using short rows. The curved edge is designed to give the cat a safe place to curl up in and hide from the world if needed. This basket will however also fit a small dog, or function as a large storage basket for your bigger knitting projects.

Sizing: The sample basket measures approximately 35 cm (14 inches) accross, and is 12 cm (4 3/4 inches) high. Size may vary according to your material and gauge.

Materials: 800 g (~284 m/310 yards) super bulky cotton ribbon yarn (1 kg = 355m/388 yards), or t-shirt yarn.
The sample used Miniontelokude (colorway 16, light gray) by Lankava Oy (1 kg = ~355m/388 yds), knitted double. The prototype weighs 772 g (~274 m/299 yds), and wpi for doubled yarn is 3-4.
Two 25 mm (1 inch) buttons, thread for sewing.

You could also make your own t-shirt yarn (reserve approximately 3-4 XL t-shirts), use denim, knit bulky yarns held together or try different ropes. Pay attention to wpi (see above) when choosing the material!

Skill level: Advanced beginner. The basket is shaped using German short rows. This is a written pattern.
