Petri dishes are a staple of any biology lab: just pour some growth medium and culture your bacteria, fungi and more. Even worms can live in them! My version is cuter than the normal ones, and comes with only the medium, but you can add some cultures with some round appliques to mimic the bacterial colonies. The perfect gift for any microbiologist, virologist or cell biologist!

The PDF includes step-by-step written instructions, visual references and photo-tutorials to help you, and it is available in English and Spanish.

Sewing needed: None. The eyes are embroidered using French knots, but can be substituted with safety eyes.

Level: beginner-intermediate.
You need to be familiar with the basic stitches used in amigurumi (chains, slip stitch, single crochet (US)/double crochet (UK), double crochet (US)/treble crochet (UK), increases, invisible decreases, and work in the third loop). There are photo-tutorials to learn how to do invisible decreases and working in the third loop with both right- and left-handed versions, if you need them.

Yarn and hooks: You can use any yarn weight you prefer; you only have to choose a suitable hook so you can crochet tight enough for the stuffing not to show.
