With spring on its way, we need a lightweight beanie! This one fits the bill. It is light, drapey, and breathable. The large needles paired with the looser stitch make for a perfect early spring hat. Petrichor is the lovely smell that lingers around after rain; which is what I was enjoying while designing this.

There are instructions for a worsted weight and bulky weight beanie so you can choose how thick or thin your hat will be! For reference, the cover photo has a peachy worsted weight beanie and a blue bulky weight beanie! This is an advanced beginner pattern. Playing off the basics of a stockinette pattern, there isn’t much to this that is overly complicated. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by how this texture is made so simply.

YOU WILL NEED:
› 1 ball of worsted weight (size 4) or bulky weight (size 5) yarn
› Worsted Weight: Size 10 (6 mm) needles on a 16-inch cable (or DPNs for baby sizes)
› Bulky Weight: Size 11 (8mm) or size 13 (9 mm) needles on a 16-inch cable (or DPNs for baby sizes)
Use needles that will match the gauge
› Optional: double pointed needles for an easier bind off
› 1 stitch marker for marking the beginning
› Yarn Needle
› Pom-Pom maker or a fur pom-pom
› Scissors
