This pattern is for a photo prop! The ‘body’ of the phoenix will drape over the newborn as it is laying there, it is NOT a cocoon.

As I do with most of my patterns, there are many photos to help you along the way, however I locate them at the END of the pattern so that if you want to print the pattern you can omit all of the photos if you so choose. Gauge is very important if you want your hat and body to be the correct size. Make sure you are able to obtain gauge before you buy the pattern, my gauge is usually much looser than most, but I prefer this way for the drape it gives.

• The hat will fit a head size 13.25 inches to 15 inches (which is the normal range for a newborn).

• Body Portion length is 14 inches long

• Wingspan is about 37 inches (give or take depending on how much you stretch it-this measurement is when it is relaxed without stretching).

• From the top of the body to the tip of the longest tail the piece measures 31 inches.
