PHOENIX Tube Top
The Phoenix Tube Top is a tube top made in a wide ribbing pattern and with an elastic around the top inside the hem. On the sides it has decreases that follow the shape of the bust, which allows for a tighter fit around the waist.
Construction:
It is worked top-down. The hem is worked first, then the rest of the body.
Techniques:
knitting in the round, long-tail cast-on, decreasing, bind-off.
SIZES:
XS (XS+), S (S+), M (M+), L (L+), XL (XL+), 2XL (2XL+)
Corresponding to Upper-Bust circumference:
cm: 73.5 (77.5), 81 (84.5), 88.5 (92), 96 (99.5), 103 (107), 110.5 (114).
inches: 29 (30.5), 31.5 (33), 34.5 (36), 37.5 (39), 40.5 (42), 43.5 (45).
MATERIAL:
Circular knitting needles:
3.5 mm (US 4) or the required needles to obtain gauge - for main project;
Cable:
60cm (24”) or 80cm (32”) depending on size.
Yarn:
-Size & Weight: 3 - Light (DK, light worsted)
-Yarn used: 100% Cotton Beige ‘Brazil’ by Mafil; 100% Cotton Dark Blue ‘Egypto 2’ by Mafil.
-Suggested yarn: any yarn in the same weight, if you want more elasticity you can use a yarn that has some stretch to it.
Yardage:
-grams: from 100g to 200g;
-meters/yards: 180m (200y) to 400m (440y) depending on size.
Other:
-Flat elastic (1-1.5cm / 0.5”) - for the upper-bust circumference, in a similar color as the yarn.
-Needle and thread - for sewing the elastic ends together.
-measuring tape, tapestry needle, stitch markers.
GAUGE:
worked in K6, P1 as pattern and blocked:
10cm (4”) in length x 6cm (2.4”) in height = 22 sts x 20 rows
